With Marianne Mueller and Olaf Kneer Jens established Casper Mueller Kneer architects based in London and Berlin in 2010. Their award-winning practice, focussing on the production of spaces for the arts, culture and fashion, and their respective protagonists, is specialised in highly individualised solutions that are developed in collaborative relationships.
His first own practice Jens co-founded in 2003, Berlin based Realarchitektur with Petra Petersson and Andrew Strickland, which ranked amongst '101 of the world´s most exciting new architects' in the Wallpaper* Directory in 2007.
His widely acclaimed transformative work includes the seat of the publisher DISTANZ in Berlin, the bunker conversion BOROS COLLECTION / SAMMLUNG BOROS, and WHITE CUBES´s largest venue in Bermondsey Street, London.
Jens has strong and extensive teaching experiences. He was a student tutor at RWTH Aachen, taught at TU Berlin as assistant professor and visiting lecturer, and was a Unit Master within the AA Berlin Laboratory of the Architectural Association.
Since 2010 he has been a visiting professor and lecturer at Brandenburg University of Technology BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg heading the chair Entwerfen und Bauen im Bestand and the ceased international postgraduate architectural design programme Architektur.Studium.Generale for a while. Recently he lectured on the correlation of heritage conservation and architectural design at BTU's Chair of Architectural Conservation.
